The start of this book had me laughing and pulled at my heart strings. I love when an author grabs you from the moment you start reading. This definitely happened to me here. I couldn’t stop reading.
Boone is having issues dealing with the fact that the father he loved had once again betrayed him, leaving the ranch house to a stranger, a murderer’s daughter. Maddie found out her father’s whole life had been a lie. With both of their lives turned upside down and both of them trying to fight an attraction unlike any they’ve ever felt, there are so many mishaps and blunders you will laugh and cry with the characters.
Boone has been bit once by the love bug with a city girl. He watched the life fade from her eyes the longer they lived in the country. He will not go through that again, so the best thing to do is to just stay away from Maddie. Maddie has places to go and jobs to get in New York, she wants no part of the ranch. Once they both give into the attraction they both realize it’s love and they both want the other to take action. When Boone breaks down to Maddie, I think he shows what being an Alpha male is all about.
