Surveying the proposed site for a high-end golf course should have been a breeze for spunky Landscape Architect Sophie Smith. But when this born-and-bred city girl is suddenly—and quite literally—swept off her feet by a sexy cowboy on horseback, she realizes that the country life has some serious (and seriously steamy!) possibilities. That is, until she finds out exactly who her smokin’-hot wrangler really is.
Cowboy and Tribal lawyer Jack Lodge is desperately trying to block the development. And if that means playing hardball—and being every inch the shark lawyer—so be it. But Sophie is a distraction he didn’t expect. A distraction that makes his blood burn.
Two different worlds. Two opposing sides. And when they finally give into the exquisite temptation, the consequences will shake the foundations of both of their lives…
I loved Ms. Zanetti’s paranormal romance and figured I would try her cowboys since I love those too. I am so glad I did. Jack is a hot-as-hell Alpha male who decides he wants Sophie and basically she just needs to get on board. I think it’s hilarious that she fights it when their chemistry is off the charts.
Once we get some of Sophie’s back story and how rough her life was, I definitely understand why she’s so skittish. She feels as though she’s never been loved. Her uncle by marriage is the only family member she has, and she’s determined to help save his business, even if doing so puts her up against the man she is falling in love with.
Jack lost his first wife when she had a wreck running away from him and their daughter to go live in the big city. The last thing he needs is his attraction to the big city golf course designer in town. Their chemistry is hard to fight and he decides to enjoy it while they can.
Rebecca knows how to write chemistry. That definitely made it thru to her cowboy books as well. I was drawn into this story from the beginning. I couldn’t wait to see how the two reacted to the chemistry they had. I can’t wait to read more about the Lodge brothers. I want to see them all get their happily ever after.
