Review – Betrayed: Days of the Rogue by Nicky Charles

Betrayed: Days of the RogueBlurb
His mate killed in a horrific explosion, ex-Enforcer Damien Masterson now lives as a rogue werewolf. Grief stricken and filled with rage, what depths will he sink to in his search for revenge? And who will be caught in the crossfire? Will it be Eve, a Fae just entering the Awakening stage? Or Rafe McRae, part empath and part wolf?

It’s been said that a rogue Enforcer is too dangerous to be allowed to roam.

Thoughts
An extremely emotional read right from the beginning. I fell in love with Damien in Bonded (Book#1) and was so excited he got his woman. He deserves to be happy. Then all hell breaks loose. I hate that he lost his mate. I truly hope he finds someone to love. He deserves it. He’s my favorite so far.

Rafe and Eve fight their attraction from the beginning, well Rafe does anyway. He thinks he’s doing the right thing for Eve. Once he breaks down and kisses her, he realizes she is Fae. They can’t be together. The legend is that two Fae (empaths) form a bridge when intimate and the feeling is addictive. They spin in a downward spiral until the only that exists for them is the other one. Well, you’ll see how well that goes over with Eve.

Other than the characters from the 1st book, I didn’t really care of the secondary characters in this book. Caro was self-centered and so it seems was Aly. I was waiting for the other shoe to drop and for them to be working with the Anti-Fae organization or something. That’s how bad I felt about them.

This was a very moving book. I really hope Damien gets to find happiness again. I love that Eve offered to be his honorary sister. She’s such a sweetie!
