Review – Reckless (Nashville Nights, Book 4) by Cheryl Douglas

As a publicist, Avery Collins knows that mixing business and pleasure is a recipe for disaster. Her bedroom is off-limits to clients, no matter how enticing and persistent they may be.

Ty McCall is country music’s newest rising star, but he needs the best team in the business to help him make it to the top. That includes Avery, who gave him the most unforgettable night of his life, only to disappear the next morning.

Avery agrees to work with him, but he wants more. Can he convince her he’s worth the risk?

I almost stopped reading the series before reading this book. I didn’t really like Avery. She seemed like a self-centered brat. I am so glad I gave her the chance. I would’ve regretted not reading this book or the rest of the series. Ms. Douglas explained Avery and made me understand why she acted like she did.

Avery had never had anyone to love her for her. She tried her hardest to make her parents proud, but it never seemed like enough. They never had time for anything to do with her. After a one night stand rouses feelings she doesn’t want to deal with, she runs. A year later, she has to face the one night stand.

Ty McCall has finally made it. There’s only one obstacle. The woman he can’t forget is now his publicist and she doesn’t want anything to do with him. He convinces her to continue seeing him, but they have a hard road ahead of them.

When an old secret comes out, I didn’t know if they would work past it and then that same secret comes around pushing and it seemed like they would never get their chance. This book shows that with work, love can overcome all.
